Story of the Studebaker M29 'Weasel'

The M29 Weasel is a lightweight tracked cargo and reconnaissance vehicle developed for extreme terrain. Designed for snow, mud, and amphibious operations, it was widely used by U.S. and Allied forces during WWII. Its versatility led to extensive post-war military service in northern Europe, including Norway.

Acquired incomplete in Norway, featuring a non-original post-war drivetrain conversion and missing original components.

Restoration commenced, reversing post-war modifications and rebuilding the vehicle to original specification in November 2023.

Condition After Restoration

Fully operational and historically correct M29 Weasel, restored for reliable use and display. First publicly presented during the Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands in April 2024.
